Advantages of Console-based Gaming

• You can be more comfortable as you play your games. (For example, it is easier to play while sitting on the couch.)
• It is easier to buy special accessories to make the gaming experience more interesting and realistic (for example, steering wheels and vibrating controls).
• The graphics and speed on console-based games is usually better than PC games.
• You know that the games you purchase will be compatible with your system (no checking to see whether you have the right Windows version).
• It is easier to play with friends using multi-player options.

Disadvantages of Console-based Games

• When the system becomes outdated the whole unit must be replaced.
• There are fewer options for hardware upgrades.
• There may be fewer options for games that can be played on the type of system you have, particularly if you want to play online.
• If you want to play against other players through an online connection, you may need to pay additional fees.
• Your console-based gaming system cannot be used to do a variety of other tasks, like a computer is.
